Important update from President / CEO, John Oathout, on lobby reopenings - Updated June 18, 2020
Welcome Back to Walmart!
At American Bank, we hope you are continuing to remain safe and well while the world and our communities start to regain a sense of normalcy. While we have staggered our branch openings, our team has continued to redefine how our branches will operate and tend to our customers' needs while keeping the safety of our employees and customers our top priority.
As previously announced, we reopened our lobbies in Necedah and the Spring Street Office in Beaver Dam earlier this month. As of this past Monday, we are happy to announce that our newly remodeled office inside Beaver Dam Walmart also reopened! We are looking forward to having another branch in Beaver Dam open and giving our customers another location to fulfill their banking needs. Staying in line with the safety protocols at our other offices, when visiting us in person, you can expect some changes in the way business is handled, including the following:
- Protective shields in all personal banking areas and teller windows
- Social distancing signage on the floors and walls to encourage customers to practice distancing in close quarters
- All American Bank employees will be wearing gloves daily, as well as masks when working with customers in a closer than 6 foot range - customers will not be required to wear masks; you are welcome to do so if you feel comfortable but are not required to
- Sanitation stations which customers are encouraged to use while at a teller window or personal banking desk
- Appointments will be required to open new accounts, access safe deposit boxes and to meet with our lenders or investment representatives
- Increased cleaning and disinfecting procedures to be done throughout the day
In addition to the safety changes being made to the branch, hours at our office inside Beaver Dam Walmart have also changed. Effective Monday, the branch will now be open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
HOURS AT OUR OFFICE INSIDE BEAVER DAM WALMART ARE CHANGING
Effective Monday, June 15, our new hours at this office are:
10 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday
10 am to 2 pm, Saturday and Sunday
Other options always available
We hope that you are able to stop by and see us at our newly remodeled office inside Beaver Dam Walmart. However, if you are in any way uncomfortable coming inside a branch, our drive up lanes and night drops at our Spring Street and Necedah Offices, as well as our ATMs at the Spring Street Office and inside Beaver Dam Walmart will continue to remain open for customer use, in addition to our online and mobile banking options that are available 24/7. With American Bank BD Mobile, you can deposit checks right from your smartphone or tablet. If you are still uncomfortable with stepping into a bank office, we encourage you use one of these methods to complete your banking needs. And, if you need assistance with any of it, we’re only a phone call away.
And, finally, as a reminder, if you are feeling unwell, we ask that you stay home and do not enter the bank, this is for the safety of our employees as well as our other customers who may be in the bank.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we all adjust to this new normal, and as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 920.885.2700.
We look forward to continuing to serve all of your financial needs,
John Oathout, President and CEO

Important update from President / CEO, John Oathout, on lobby reopenings - Updated June 8, 2020
We're ready to welcome you back to American Bank!
At American Bank, we hope you have remained safe and well during the uncertain times both our world and community have been experiencing the last couple months. We have kept our office lobbies closed during this time to keep our employees, customers and community members safe. While the lobbies have been closed, our team has been hard at work planning and redefining how our branches will operate once opened again with our customers and employees’ safety being a top priority.
Within the last week, we’ve reopened our lobbies in Necedah and the Spring Street Office in Beaver Dam and we look forward to welcoming you back! The Beaver Dam Walmart Office will be opening mid-June and more information will follow on that as we get closer to an open date. However, when visiting us in person, you can expect some changes in the way business is handled in our lobbies.
Below is an outline of the changes being made to our branches when we begin to reopen them to continue to keep our employees and customers safe. Changes customers should be aware of before stepping inside an office include:
-
Protective shields in all personal banking areas and teller windows
- Social distancing signage on the floors and walls to encourage customers to practice distancing in close quarters
- All American Bank employees will be wearing masks and gloves and will have daily health screenings - customers will not be required to wear masks; you are welcome to do so if you feel comfortable but are not required to
- Sanitation stations which customers are encouraged to use when coming in and out of the building
- Limited number of people in the lobby at one time
- Appointments will be required to open new accounts, access safe deposit boxes and to meet with our lenders or investment representatives
- Increased cleaning and disinfecting procedures to be done throughout the day
- Saturdays at the Spring Street Office will continue to be open from 8 am to Noon, but by drive up only; no lobby access without an appointment on Saturdays - please call us for an appointment at 920.885.2710
Other options always available
As always, our drive up lanes and night drops at our Spring Street and Necedah Offices, as well as our ATMs at the Spring Street Office and inside Beaver Dam Walmart will continue to remain open for customer use, in addition to our online and mobile banking options that are available 24/7. With American Bank BD Mobile, you can deposit checks right from your smartphone or tablet. If you are still uncomfortable with stepping into a bank office, we encourage you use one of these methods to complete your banking needs. And, if you need assistance with any of it, we’re only a phone call away.
Even if you are comfortable with being in public, our Spring Street and Necedah drive ups, ATMs, and night drops are a great way to limit your exposure to other people around you. In addition to the drive up windows and ATMs being available, customers are always offered the option to schedule an appointment with a personal banker or lender if there is more assistance needed with your banking needs.
By following these precautions, we are doing our best and taking the responsibility we need to, to maximize safety and security measures needed to keep our employees and customers safe. We believe our plans for reopening give customers a few options to complete their banking needs the way they prefer while keeping others safe. We ask that you stay home and do not enter the bank if you are feeling unwell.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we all adjust to these new times. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 920.885.2700.
We look forward to continuing to serve all of your financial needs,
John Oathout
