Branch Manager

Location: American Bank Walmart Branch, 120 Frances Lane, Beaver Dam, WI  

Status:  Full – time salaried position

Hours:  Hours worked are during the branch’s hours of operation which are:  10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday.  Weekend hours are on a rotation basis.  

Job Summary: The In-Store Branch Manager is responsible for managing and anticipating the needs of the branch, including driving sales, stellar customer service, complying with regulations and policy requirements, and facility management.  Develops new deposit business, provides superior customer service and promotes a sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation. Provides leadership, training and supervision to all Customer Service Representatives.
  
Key Responsibilities:  
A.    Supervise the day to day operational functions of the branch location.  

B.    Ensure the branch is opened and closed on a timely basis.

C.    Approve customer and bank transactions within authority limits.  Address escalated customer situations. 

D.    Responsible for the growth of deposits and referral of loans to lenders within the branch.  Perform activities designed to promote deposit and loan growth, customer adoption of auxiliary services, such as online and mobile banking, e-statements, and debit cards.  

E.    Provide assistance to customers by opening new deposit accounts, responding to inquiries and assisting with product and service issues.  Make referrals to the Investment Specialist and lending staff.

F.    Maintain staff schedules to provide adequate coverage at all times.  Review and approve vacation requests and other absences.

G.    Keep staff informed of pertinent changes in operational policy and procedures.

H.    Oversee new employee training, identify training needs of the staff and provide/arrange for training to maintain a knowledgeable staff.

I.    Facilitate regular team meetings focused on sales, service, product and branch security training.

J.    Address personnel issues and take appropriate actions to ensure a positive work environment.

K.    Ensure excellent customer service skills are practiced by all staff members.

L.    Prepare Customer Service Representatives’ performance appraisals, conduct performance reviews, coach and provide guidance to assist in the staff’s growth and development.

M.    Participate in community organizations and events to enhance the bank’s image and develop additional business and referral sources.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory/managerial experience, preferably in an office or retail setting.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, decision making, leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and product referral skills as well as a positive outgoing personality and attitude.
  • Ability to display professionalism and tact in interactions with customers and staff.
  • Flexibility to work past regularly scheduled hours to cover the demands of the position.
  • Previous banking experience is strongly preferred, but not a requirement.  Willing to train the right individual.
